Criminal and Civil Consequences of a Hit & Run

March 22, 2017

A 73-year-old male was arrested earlier this month after leaving the scene of a deadly crash. The accident involved the man’s 2005 Acura and two motorcycles. One motorcyclist died at the scene, and the other was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 73-year-old was uninjured in the crash, and he fled the scene.

The man was found and arrested a few days following the crash and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury. He was then transported to the Montgomery County Correction Facility. Hit-and-Runs happen too often. As a result, not only will defendants be charged criminally, but victims of the crashes may also be entitled to compensation.
